A health survey in England found that men reported on average having 9.3 times as many sexual partners with a quarter of them have more than 10 pairs. Men who have a spouse more than 10 of about 27 percent.
Instead of women having sexual partners in life as much as 4.7 by the number of about 13 percent, with a quarter of them have only one sexual partner.
Women are also more of a monogamous (have 1 pair of the opposite sex) in her life that is equal to 24 percent, while men are monogamous only 17 percent. Meanwhile, women were older (at age 55-69 years) are monogamous throughout his life as much as 40 percent.
The poll involved 14,000 people published by the NHS Information Centre. These results indicate that many young generation who have sex at an early age have more risk.
"The picture of sexual behavior has changed from previous generations, today women tend to have sex younger age," said Tim Straughan, chief executive of the NHS, as quoted by the Telegraph, Friday (12/16/2011).
Although most admitted using contraception, about one-fifth of women who have had sex in the morning pill to prevent pregnancy. And 17 percent of participants aged 16-34 years have been diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections.
One of the priorities of public health is to prevent teen pregnancy because it can have harmful effects on health and socioeconomic status of mothers and children.
"People who are young should think carefully before having sex, it's not something that should be done in a hurry. Consider it seriously and use of contraception is the best way to protect themselves from sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies," said Public UK Health Minister, Anne Milton.
