Sanika has a height 134.62 cm which makes it often harassed and ridiculed when it was on the playground and school. There was a shout as 'Mini Me' and 'Freak' while running and laughing, this condition makes Sanika hit and always cry every time he returned to his home.
Sanika hypochondroplasia condition that is known to have a form of dwarfism that makes her size smaller than normal people. These physical conditions often experience bullying him both mentally and physically.
Unable to bear constantly in-bully, then in November 2010 at the age of 20 years, Sanika decided to take drastic action leg lengthening surgery to increase height by 3.5 inches (8.89 cm).
Leg lengthening surgery is a drastic and painful surgery that involves both a broken shin and then use a series of pins and wires, so that new bone can grow to fill the existing gaps and increase the height.
This condition makes Sanika constant pain that occurs and the recovery process requires about 2 years before he could walk again. But he revealed that it was better than the torture he received every day.
"Ever since I can remember, they always called me horrible names like 'Dwarfy,' Freak 'and' Shorty '. I remember them hitting and kicking me and calling with all sorts of names, but the most painful is to call the' Mini Me ', "said Sanika, as quoted by The Sun, Tuesday (12/06/2011).
Sometimes he had to pretend to be sick in front of her school is not allowed. Now he felt the pain instead of calling or torture people, but from the condition after surgery. He believes that after everything is finished, it will be well received and no longer call him evil.
When born, Sanika looks like any other healthy baby, but when she was 7 years old he has a shorter body than his friends. Worried, the mother Yasmin (43 years) took him to the doctor and says he has a growth disorder without any explanation.
Diagnosis of hypochondroplasia was discovered in 2009 when high test weight before surgery. He advised the growth hormone treatment to prolong her height.
"But mother does not allow because of severe side effects of drugs one of which the risk of getting diabetes," said Sanika.
However, this condition was made more miserable and intimidated until he reached a point which can not stand it anymore. When she was 18 years old he began to look for extended operation of the foot or known by Symmetric Extended Limb lengthening.
"I visited the doctor and explain how bad my life, until finally I was referred to a specialist and agreed to undergo the operation. In May 2009 I started blood tests and X-ray examinations," he said.
Before surgery, Sanika conduct counseling to ensure he understands the painful recovery period. After surgery he berinstirahat in bed with leg braces for 24 hours and wait 12 months until new bone harden even though he could not walk.
This operation is somewhat extreme because healing is much slower than usual fracture occurs. Complications can occur include infection of the bone and skin, pin bones broken in the new bone, skin problems and sometimes causing disability feet. Hence the surgeon and the psychologist will assess each case carefully before deciding on surgery.
"The bully had to drive me to do operations like this extreme, and I hope there are no more people who mock other people who have conditions similar to me," said Sanika.
