Patients with Osteoporosis, Bones 62 year but age 31 year

The threat of osteoporosis (bone loss) is still considered dangerous than other hospitals such as heart disease or diabetes. Though patients can osteoporis suddenly broken bones and could not walk because his bones are very brittle.

A new osteoporosis patients aged 31 years and even had to accept the fragility of the bones are very old or 2 times older than her age.

That's what happened Bancrott Katie, a young, successful businessman, but must be careful with brittle bones that easily. Osteoporosis was experiencing was the impact of poor diet.

"You may think I'm okay, but improper diet has left me with the bones of a woman aged 2-fold of my age," said Bancrott from Wilmslow, Cheshire, as quoted from Dailymail, Wednesday (26/10/2011 ).

The specialist had warned three years ago to reduce the habit of feasting and refrain from eating if you do not want to experience chronic osteoporosis in 20 years.

Katie began to realize that something is wrong with her health when she was diagnosed with amenorrhea (absence of periods) at the age of 24 years. The doctor said it could be a sign of something serious and asked him to perform DXA scans to measure bone density.

The scans showed that she suffered from osteoporosis, so it must be treated to prevent further bone loss that could put him in a wheelchair.

"I used to party, and when broken up with my boyfriend started doing a very strict diet and hunger resulting in today's conditions," said Katie.

Katie said she initially did not have an eating disorder like that, but for 2-3 years with a strict control my food to starving for days, crazy sports like running and going to the gym.

He did it for 4 years until finally he often had the flu and are no longer menstruating. He then decided to go to the doctor and the scans showed that the bones in his body has deteriorated very quickly.

"The doctor says that this is a serious disease or I'll end up in a wheelchair within 20 years," he said.

Now Katie has stopped poor diet and excessive exercise, and perform a bone density scan every year. He also has managed to stabilize his condition with a healthy diet includes the consumption of lots of calcium and vitamin D.

"I highly recommend for young women to make healthy eating and taking care of his body. Most young people think he will never experience it, but thought it was wrong because I experienced it," Katie said.

Meanwhile UK envoy Dunchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker-Bowles who was also wife of Prince Charles, warns young women who will face strict diet 'walking time bomb' to put himself at risk for osteoporosis.

"A whole generation of young women can get, things that most caught my attention is the emergence of osteoporosis in young people and their relationship with eating disorders," said Camilla whose mother died of osteoporosis.

Camilla suggested that people who eat sensibly and exercise can still be slim, without having to try to starve yourself who will risk damaging health.

Diagnosis through bone density scans in people at risk could be the key to reducing the suffering caused by osteoporosis. In addition to helping young people gain the weight back and give him extra vitamin D and calcium is a way to treat osteoporosis.

"In recent years we have seen an increased number of young women who have osteoporosis and diet is one cause. For that adequate nutrition is essential throughout life to help optimize bone health," said Prof. Terence O'Neill, chairman of the National Osteoporosis Society's.
