A study conducted NHS Smokefree revealed that 5 percent of smokers underestimate the number of annual deaths related to diseases caused by smoking.

"There are also 58 percent of smokers who underestimate the number of die young victim from diseases associated with smoking. And 8 percent did not realize that smoking can cause serious health damage and premature death," spokesman for the NHS, as reported by Timesofindia, Wednesday(January 4,2012).

Not only that, smokers also underestimate how much money should be he spend to buy many packs of cigarettes.

For that thing, the British Government urged its citizens stop the bad habits such as New Year's resolutions.

"Stop smoking is the best thing you can do to improve your health in the new year," said UK Health Minister, Anne Milton.
