Description
Klonopin containing clonazepam. Clonazepam is used alone or in conjunction with other medications to treat certain seizures or seizure disorders, for example, Lennox Gastaut syndrome, akinetic or myoclonic seizures). It is also used to treat panic disorder in some patients. Clonazepam is one of those benzodiazepines. Benzodiazepines, including a group of medicines called central nervous system depressant (CNS), which is a drug to slow down the nervous system. The drug can only be obtained by prescription.

1. seizure disorders
a. adult
Initial dose: should not exceed 1.5 mg / day divided into 3 doses.
The dose may be increased gradually from 0.5-1 mg every 3 days until seizures are controlled or until enough side effects preclude any further increases.
Maximum daily dose: 20 mg.
b. Children (infants to 10 year olds)
Initial dose: from 0.01 to 0.03 mg / kg / day but not exceeding 0.05 mg / kg / day given in 2-3 divided doses.
The dose may be increased no more than 0.25 to 0.5 mg every third day until a daily maintenance dose from 0.1 to 0.2 mg / kg body weight has been reached, unless seizures can be controlled.
2. Panic disorder
a. adult
Initial dose: 0.25 mg.
The increase for most patients of 1 mg / day can be done after 3 days.
