Description

Rifamtibi containing rifampicin. Rifampin is used in conjunction with other drugs to treat tuberculosis (TB) in various parts of the body. The drug is also used by patients who have bacterial meningitis in the nose or throat to prevent the spread of bacteria to other patients.

Rifampicin belongs to a class of medications called antibiotics and work to kill or prevent bacteria growth. However, it will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. This drug can only be obtained by prescription.

dose

1. adult
a. More than 50 kg: 600 mg per day.
b. Less than 50 kg: 450 mg daily.

Should be taken as a single dose for 1-4 weeks.
For the next month, the usual dose is 600 mg 2 times a week.

2. child
10-20 mg / kg body weight.

Max: 600 mg daily as single dose.
Combine with INH or ethambutol.
