Researchers from The University of Western Australia found that children whose mothers often talked to him in more detail about your thoughts and feelings of the people tend to take a better perspective than other children the same age. The results of this study was reported in the journal Child Development.
"Parents are often put themselves in someone else in conversation with children, will make them more likely to do the same thing," said study leader Brad Farrant, as quoted from Healthcanal, Wednesday (12/28/2011).
Studies involving more than 120 children in Australia are looking at the effect how parents interact with their children in developing the ability to take perspective of others.
Researchers found that mothers more often and more detailed talk about the human mind and about how other people react to certain situations will make the child have the skills better perspective.
It shows the mother tongue can affect children's language abilities and cognitive flexibility, would later influence the development of the theory of thought and perspectives of children to others.
"If a child has a mind and a better perspective, then later he will be better able to solve the many challenges it faces in this world," says Farrant.
In addition, children who have speech delay may not be experiencing delays in thinking skills perspective, this is if the mother is frequently invited to speak by using the language.
