Mother Dies Due to Reject Chemotherapy For Babies Born Healthy

News Health Articles - Mother Dies Due to Reject Chemotherapy For Babies Born Healthy. Jenni Lake gave birth to her son a month before the 18 th anniversary. Jenni is one of the teenage mothers, but very big sacrifice to be a mother. She died because he refused chemotherapy to treat cancer that lodged in the brain so that his son be born healthy.

Jenni often experience migraines at age 16 when I was in junior school Pocatello High School. From the results of MRI scans, the family doctor found a small mass measuring 2 cm wide on the right side of his brain.

When examined at a hospital in Salt Lake City, another scan showed a mass greater than previously thought. Jenni undergo a biopsy on October 15, 2010 and five days later she was diagnosed with astrocytoma (a type of brain tumor) stage three.

With 3 in brain tumor and 3 tumors in his spine, Jenni told that her case is rare because of his brain tumor has spread to other parts of the body without any symptoms.

Doctors say the chance of living Jenni only 30 percent for 2 years. While both parents feel very devastated, it does not happen to Jenni.

"He was not devastated, crying or anything," explained Mike Lake (43 years), his father who worked as a truck driver who lives in Rexburg, Pocatello north, as reported by FoxNews, Thursday (29/12/2011).

But his mother said that Jenni looks weak when the doctor said that he could not have children.

"When they say that he could not have children, she was angry," says Phillips (39 years), mother of Jenni.

Initially Jenni began undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. He also posted videos on YouTube, which tells the life story and his journey against brain cancer. Jenni had time to post the third video.

Jenni looks tough. But in the second video posted on November 20, 2010, Jenni looked bewildered when her friend record the activities of his lunch with his mother.

"Last night, I just lie in bed and I think about everything that was going on, it makes me upset, it made me cry. Do you know how hard it is to be a mother? When she knows that you are sick but nothing he could do . It's difficult. I do not know how long this will last and I just want to go, "said Jenni in the video.

In May 2011, according to family Jenni has begun to shrink tumors. Jenni also briefly attended the prom with her boyfriend Nathan Wittman nigth. Jenni and Nathan started having a few weeks before she was diagnosed with cancer. Relationship with their teens survive a severe test after Jenni undergoing cancer treatment.

Many friends who thought Nathan just want to connect with Jenni because she was suffering from cancer. But the relationship continued until the end Jenni declared pregnant 10 weeks.

From the beginning of treatment, family and Jenni have been told that he is not likely to have children due to radiation and chemotherapy can make them sterile (infertile or sterile).

"We were told that he could not get pregnant, so we do not worry about it (sexual intercourse)," said Nathan (19 years).

But unlike with Jenni, she always wanted to be a mother and she's determined to keep her baby healthy.

"He told us that if she was pregnant, she could not continue the treatment of cancer. So, he should choose to end the pregnancy and continue treatment, or stop treatment and learned that the cancer can continue to grow," said his mother.

Jenni decided to discontinue the treatment of cancer and refused chemotherapy for their children can be born healthy. His family thought that Jenni has begun to shrink tumors. She may still be able to continue the treatment of cancer later on after the baby is born.

But reality says another, indeed Jenni gave birth to son named Chad Michael with safe and sound, but the condition of his own body is very weak.

Jenni Chad died after giving birth. He did not regret her decision. Before breathing his last, Jenni even had time to whisper to the nurse at the hospital.

"I've done, I did what I should do. My baby will be safe here," whispered the nurse Jenni.
