1. Cold compress
Cold compresses can be tried when back pain first appeared.

"When the muscles of the back pain, pain is usually caused by inflamed tissue. Cold compresses can reduce swelling and discomfort," said Dr. Jason Highsmith, a neurosurgeon in Charleston, SC.

So feel sick, cold compresses several times a day, for 10 minutes for about 3 days can relieve back pain.

2. Pain relief medication that is available on the market
When cold or hot compresses are not enough, then it can try taking pain medication available in the market. Both types of anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as Advil, and acetaminophen (Tylenol) can inhibit chemical pathways in the body that can produce pain.

We recommend taking NSAID drugs together with food, because the drug can cause nausea.

3. Topical Cream
Topical creams can be used when you want to find an alternative to the pill. When applied to the skin, these creams can cause nerve endings to feel either hot or cold, thus dulling the pain.

"Some of the topical creams can irritate skin or cause redness. Wash your hands after applying the cream, and do not let the cream on the eye area," said Katz.

4. Light physical exercise
When your back feels a bit stiff, you should do light physical exercise.

"Activities such as walking, cycling, and water sports can fix almost all the muscles associated with problems in the body. Exercise can also stimulate endorphins, so one can feel better. It can help reduce pain," said Katz.

In order to prevent rigidity of the most effective way is to do light physical exercise for 30 minutes for 3 times a week. The results of a study showing that people who lift weights for about 4 times a week can be decreased as much as 42 percent on back pain.

5. New mattress
When I woke up with back pain, may be a sign that should be replace with a new mattress. After 8 or 9 years old, the mattress can begin to provide less support, so it usually can cause back pain.

"People who suffer from constant back pain, the condition is often improved when it was replaced with a new mattress," said Todd Sinett.

Contrary to popular belief, that a more rigid mattress is not always better. Results showed that, with the stiffness of the mattress is the best.

Beware of mattresses that are advertised as a recommendation from an orthopedist or doctors, because it is not necessarily true.

6. Chiropractic care
Chiropractic care can be attempted when other attempts to relieve back pain does not work. "A professional health practitioner can provide assistance from the muscles that have chronic inflammation," said Sinett.
