Some people sometimes wonder why one person can be more susceptible to disease than others. Various studies carried out to find it and know there are some secrets to prevent illness, as quoted by FoxNews, Tuesday (06/12/2011), namely:
1. Going with friends to get fresh air
Many say living in the home can protect from disease, but if there are people who are sick then viruses and bacteria more easily transmitted to each other because contacts can more easily occur in a confined space.
For that there's nothing wrong going out with friends enjoying the fresh air, while fun can also boost immunity. This will increase natural killer cells, neutrophils and monocytes that will improve immune function.
2. Relaxation to ward off colds
This happens because the pressure could increase the vulnerability of people affected by the flu in the long run can release stress hormones such as glucocorticoids there. This inhibits the body's ability to produce cells with molecules called cytokines that trigger a response against the disease.
For that relaxation is needed to reduce the pressure or stress experienced by a person, so the body produces enough cytokines to fight disease and boost immunity.
3. Diligent hand washing with soap
Most of the diseases caused by viruses and bacteria can spread easily through the touch of a finger that will hold the eyes, nose or mouth. Therefore washing hands with soap to be the most effective as a form of prevention.
Dana Simpler, MD, of Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore said that you should use soap for 20 seconds before rinsing and then make sure to completely dry, because wet hands are much more likely to spread bacteria than dry hands.
4. Having a regular sleep pattern
Having no time to sleep soundly can continuously inhibit the immune system's ability to function optimally. Although sleep needs of each person is different, but preferably about 6-7 hours and did not wake up at night.
