Stay away Stroke Risk with Life Full of PASSION

The message was delivered by the Chief Executive of the Stroke Foundation of Indonesia (Yastroki), Prof. Dr. Haryono Suyono the World Stroke Day press conference 'Get to know your risk, Prevent Strokes' at the Hotel Intercontinental MidPlaza Jakarta, Thursday (10/27/2011). World stroke day itself is celebrated every October 29.

"In a community with high sophistication (very busy) as it is now, very high stress levels and eating patterns tend to be bad. As a result the risk of stroke at young age increases," said Prof. Haryono and former Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare of Suharto era.



According to Prof. Haryono, current stroke more often affects young age of about 30 or so years. In Yastroki alone, patients who experienced a stroke at the age of only about 10 percent but estimated the number will continue to rise.

Therefore, Prof. Haryono suggested that young people go through life with PASSION to avoid the risk of stroke. PASSION is an abbreviation of a number of tips on healthy living, which stands for is as follows.

1. Healthy lifestyle
Included is a set pattern and type of food, adequate rest and plenty of exercise.

2. Actively stay in touch
In modern society, lack of relationship to be one stressor. Various problems and the burden of life would be hard if no one else with whom to share.

3. Remember and piety to God
The belief that the age and health are regulated by the Creator, to some extent will reduce stress levels so that the risk of reduced stress.

4. Her love and care about others
Lack of concern for the environment often makes people feel the most pain, but out there is still much less fortunate. As a result to be easily stressed, increased stroke risk.

5. Knowledge about stroke glory
Everything ranging from prevention, early detection to treatment of stroke is not enough to just know it. Need a real application, in order to really avoid a stroke.

6. Humor is healthy
"People's lives should not be pouting," Prof. Haryono message.

This means that any heavy burden of life, if addressed with a sense of humor then people will not easily stressed. Normal body functions will be more awake, one so rarely had a stroke.

Currently, the strokes became one of the most infectious diseases are not lethal. It is estimated that every six seconds there is a people worldwide died of a stroke, while in Indonesia accounted for 15.4 percent of stroke deaths in the age group above 5 years (data Riskesdas 2007).
