In this study, researchers collected 54 male students and 61 female students and asked them to listen to two recordings sound men and women.
Sound recording has been digitally modified so that the tone becomes higher and lower. Participants were asked to select the voice belongs to who is more likely cheating spouse. They were also asked to determine who is considered the most attractive sound.
Findings that have been published in the journal Evolutionary Psychology suggests that men with low-pitched voice is considered the most likely cheated by female participants. While male participants consider women with high-pitched voice is more prone to do cheating.
If viewed in terms of physiology, the man with a very deep voice and tone of voice that women with high testosterone and estrogen have more.
"If a person is considered more attractive, it is more likely for him to make connections. And because he is more interesting, spouses tend to let it go," said David Feinberg, assistant professor in the department of psychology, neuroscience and behavior as reported by Time Healthland, Monday (2 / 1 / 2012).
Previously, Feinberg traveled to Tanzania to track sexual inclination tribal hunter-gatherers, the Hadza. Hadza do not use contraceptives so it is considered as the perfect place to examine the fidelity pairs.
Feinberg found that men who lower his voice, more babies. These guidelines make Feinberg assume that low-voiced men more feel free to spread his sperm.
"From an evolutionary perspective, if current trends are not favorable for our ancestors to help them choose a better partner, then this will not survive until now," said the researcher, Jillian O'Connor, of the department of psychology, neuroscience and behavior at McMaster University in Ontario.
