Scientists from the University of California argues that there is one condition on the psychopath, which is a multifaceted condition (many faces) are characterized by a mixture of personality traits.
Psychopaths are emotionally disturbed. Researchers say many people who think that the psychopath is inborn and not 'established'. But that assumption is wrong, because the psychopath is not just a matter of actual genes.
Many of the psychologists who consider psychopathy can not be changed. But recent studies that have been published in the journal Psychological Science suggests that psychopathy can be cured.
"Psychopathy tend to be used as a label for people we do not like it, can not be understood or interpreted as a crime. However, there is increasing evidence that it is a mixture of several different personality traits," said Prof. Jennifer Skeem, professor of psychology and social behavior at the University of California, as reported by Dailymail, Tuesday (13/12/2011).
According to Prof. Skeem, here's an important distinction that has long escaped the attention of psychologists and policy makers.
"It seems to have caused some constitutional that can be formed by environmental factors," adds Prof. Skeem.
Prof. Skeem also showed that psychopathic individuals often do not have a history of violent or criminal behavior. According to him, psychopathy can not be equated with extreme violence or serial murders.
"Psychopaths do not appear with a different type on each person. This is not a hazard that can not be cured," said Prof. Skeem.
