Not Twins Not Relatives, Birth Defects Bareng 3 Baby Got Heart

News Health Articles - Not Twins Not Relatives, Birth Defects Bareng 3 Baby Got Heart. Three babies are born simultaneously on October 15, 2011 at the same hospital. All three are not twin brothers nor the alias can not have blood ties. But strangely the three babies born on the same day it had the same heart defect.

All three infants were from the same town in Greater Manchester and was born at the hospital at Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool. But after birth, three were known to have the same defect that is the main coronary arteries are in the wrong place so fatal if not promptly corrected or surgery.

The operation was carried out for 4 hours at Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool alternately several consecutive days in the hospital after the age of each child reach more than 1 week.

Parent of the three infants who were named Jack Gallagher, Bradley Cooper and Cody Carruthers became good friends during the past ordeal and hope that all this baby can live normally.

"This is a scary time, he had surgery when she was just 9 days and we want everything to run smoothly and properly," said Curtis Carruthers, Bradley's father, as quoted from Dailymail, Friday (12/09/2011).

Bradley was born weighing 2.69 kg because he was unable to take food that is consumed by her mother, Janine Collier (20 years).

Meanwhile, Michelle Bleakley of Cody's mother said her baby was born at 39 weeks of age, weighing 3.2 Kg. But the condition of the heart defect that is owned by Cody was detected at 20 weeks gestation through screening scan.

Cody do the surgery when he was 10 days, and he had to lose a few pounds of weight after surgery, but he kept smiling and struggling to survive.

Meanwhile, Bob's father of Jack Gallagher said that he did not know the baby has a heart defect until he was born with a weight of 3.7 Kg, Jack had to undergo surgery at the age of 11 days. Now the condition is fine but still need regular check-up to the hospital.

Sundar Prem Venugopal, consultant pediatric cardiac surgeons who perform these three operations said that there is a transposition of great arteries. Operations move two main heart arteries that carry blood from the heart to the right place or should be.

"We've been doing surgery for 30 years. But this experience is an unusual thing for which there are three babies born with disabilities the same conditions and then operated on three different days in the same place," said Venugopal.

Now the third baby was successfully operated well and return to their homes, but they still have to do a routine check at the hospital to avoid any complications.

Congenital heart defect which could be the baby has a hole between heart chambers, can also be a defect in the valve or the location of the heart's blood vessels that are not appropriate. This condition can be detected at the time of ultrasound during pregnancy or listened to his heart after birth.

Not all babies born with congenital heart defects or signs or symptoms are detected during pregnancy, so sometimes the case became known only after the baby is born. Though the early detection and fast can be key in improving survival.
