A research found that women who lose their virginity at an early age have a higher risk of experiencing a divorce in first marriages.

The study, published in the Journal of Marriage and Family is based on a survey conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics in the United States in 2006 to 7643 women in the age group 15-44 years.



Time and context are key factors in this study. If a girl aged under 14 years of losing virginity in a way that is not desirable, he tends to have many sexual partners before marriage, at risk of having an unwanted pregnancy, and potentially suffering from sexually transmitted diseases.
