Viaclav, Drug For Bacterial Infections Aerobic and Anaerobic. Viaclav is one trade name of Amoxicillin and clavulanate. Amoxicillin and clavulanate combination is used to treat bacterial infections in different parts of the body. Antibiotic amoxicillin clavulanate is a combination of a group of drugs known as penicillin and beta-lactamase inhibitors. This drug works by killing bacteria and preventing bacterial growth. However, this drug will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. These drugs are only available by prescription.

Composition

1. Per 500 mg tablet contains 500 mg of Amoxicillin Viaclav anhydrate and 125 mg of clavulanic acid.
2. Per 5 ml syrup contains 125 mg of Amoxicillin Viaclav anhydrate and 31.25 mg clavulanic acid.
3. Viaclav per bottle containing 1,000 mg Amoxicillin and 200 mg clavulanic acid.

Indication
Treatment of infections caused by penicillinase production of gram positive and gram-negative, aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.

Contraindications
Patients who have a history of penicillin allergy.

Dose

1. Caplet
a. Adults & children> 40 kg
- Infection normal: 250 mg every 8 hours
- For more serious infections and respiratory tract infections: 500 mg every 8 hours.
b. Children <40 kg 20 mg / kg body weight per day. 2. Syrup (Children <40 kg body weight) a. Common infections 20 mg / kg of body weight every 8 hours. b. Otitis media, sinusitis, respiratory tract infections, and other severe infections 40 mg / kg body weight every 8 hours. 3. Injection a. Adults & children> 12 years
1 bottle every 6-8 hours.
b. Children 3 months-12 years
30 mg / kg every 6-8 hours
c. Infants 0-3 months
30 mg / kg every 12 hours

Side effects

See a doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:
1. Itchy
2. Itching of the vagina or genital area
3. Pain during intercourse
4. Redness of the skin
5. Skin rash
