Salt is a mineral consisting of 40 percent and 60 percent sodium chloride. Minerals are important for all living things, but should not be consumed excessively.
Studies conducted company Salt and Health showed that there was no difference in chemical composition between different types of salt. All types of salt contain 100 percent sodium chloride, which is harmful when consumed in large quantities.
"The cook does not behave quite honest with promoting the use of sea salt or rock salt (rock salt) as a healthy option, which claimed to contain essential minerals," explained the doctor from the Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine, as reported by Geniusbeauty, Wednesday (21/12/2011 ).
In this study, also conducted a survey on 1000 people and found that 1 in 3 respondents considered that the sea salt and rock salt healthier than table salt.
Today, people eat too much salt (more than one teaspoon per day is recommended by doctors) so it can be at risk for high blood pressure, risk of stroke and congestive heart failure.
Based on the research, the salt is closely related to hypertension. Half a teaspoon of salt can raise systolic pressure (the pressure when the heart is pumping blood) rose by 5 points and diastolic pressure (the pressure when the heart is relaxing) rose 3 points. Meanwhile, when people begin to reduce the salt to less than 1 teaspoon, then the pressure will drop 7 points systolic and diastolic pressure fell 4 points.
